Changing Oil 2013 Triglide:
Anyone out there accept whatever success changing the engine and transmission oil without jacking up the trike? Having trouble locating the drain plugs with the bike sitting on the garage floor. Don't laugh, never had any issues changing the oil on our 2 cycle Goldwing's merely this Harley is a little different.

Which pigsty is giving you trouble? Get y'all a service manual, has really proficient pictures of where things are. I actually think the trike is easier to practice than my Ultra or my Gold Wing. My Gold Wing had an aftermarket belly pan that fabricated information technology a pain. The Ultra it seemed the jiffy stand up was always in the way.
The but issue I've had doing the 15 Tri was getting the pan under it. No leaning makes it a little tougher, but the Harley pan fits nether it fine, just not much room to get your manus in in that location to get the drain plug out. Loosen it beginning, get the pan close, then drop information technology, quickly slide the pan under. The filter is kinda messy. I have the bleed affair that is supposed to allow the oil to bleed from the filter to the pan, just it never really catches it all. I stop up wiping upward oil on the frame.
Practiced Luck.

I never jack mine up to alter the engine ,trans or master oils. There is a plug abreast the engine oil drain plug that drains the crank example and then don't loosen information technology. Become a service transmission. I am not certain if the owners manual shows it. It is very easy to practice. The oil filter will make a big mess so be prepared for that. There are means to minimize the mess just I found it's but easier to make clean up the mess it makes. Near important is to get a service transmission and the TG supplement.

No troubles at all changing whatever of the oils. I have an old turkey pan to catch the oil - it fits perfectly under the engine. I loosen the drain commodities, slide the pan under, squeeze my hand in to unscrew the bolt the final few threads and let the commodities fall into the oil. Then utilise an extending magnet to think it later. Dump the oil into a plastic gallon jug and take it to Pep Boys or any other auto parts/quick lube/gas station to dispose of it.
Back in the day I just used aluminum foil to make a deflector for the oil. And then I made a filter oil take hold of matter out of a liter bottle(a little better). And so subsequently installing a new filter, I only spray the whole expanse with parts cleaner or an engine cleaner and hose off = clean equally a whistle.

Use 2x6'southward or 2x8'south to elevate bicycle when you decide to park it to do the changes for oil. Gives you only a piffling room for the pan and your hands.

Oil was so like shooting fish in a barrel...pan fit under drain and filter...motor heads warm to the touch...pull drain plug and let bleed till gone...then used Rivco filter wrench for the filter...permit all baste in pan...clean and supercede filter and oil plug...sprayed front of motor with Liquid Wrench and let drip dry out...three quarts to first and then acme off...No mess, No fuss...
